NEWPORT YACHT INTERIORS

Our client requested that we look to French Impressionist painting, notably Monet's Waterlilies series, for inspiration when we began the interior design on this new build in Istanbul, Turkey. Newport Yacht Interiors incorporated the textures, colors and organic elements which exemplify the infamous Impressionist style. Expanding on this theme, we designed the salon using materials which mimic the signature brushstroke style and pointillism techniques. From subtle hints of sealife motifs to patterns of organic plant life, the inspiration shows through our use of vibrant colors and luxurious materials.

"Cheryl DiGennaro of Newport Yacht Interiors was spot on in achieving precisely the ambiance we envisioned onboard Calliope. She immediately connected to our vision of vibrant colors, those found in Monet's Water Lilies, playing off of neutral-toned larger pieces, then expanding and clarifying it in the loveliest of ways. For the Main Salon, she deserves a medal...she selected the furnishings and exquisite fabrics in varying patterns, tones and textures to embody the impressionist style. The duvet fabric for the master stateroom is a gorgeous teal silk with a relief pattern that looks like the rippled surface of water moments after a stone has been thrown into it. The accent pillows depict a bold floral in an abstract water-color effect, in the exact color palette I originally mentioned to Cheryl.

She also had no problem transposing our vision to the lower staterooms. I wanted them to feel beachy and comfortable, yet sophisticated. Again, Cheryl curated the exact living space I was looking for through a combination of silks, linens, organic references, and fun patterns. The variety she chose was extraordinary. Her talents are evidenced throughout the boat. We could not be happier with Cheryl's creative talents to define and refine the concept we had for our new yacht."
